So don’t you ever go adrift –
I wish you luck and motivation!
II Main Part
- Children, look at the board. What is it? (an egg)
-
Yes,
it is a symbol of Easter. This egg is very pretty. It is yellow with a red
ribbon on. It looks like a present.
-
Do
you like presents?
-
Do
you know who brings eggs on the eve of Easter?
-
Easter
Bunny.
-
Hello
children. Do you know me?
- Who it is? Yes, it is a
rabbit.
Rabbit: I am the Easter Rabbit. My name is Bunny, I am
from Great Britain. I’ve got a basket.
I’m a little bunny soft and sweets
Here are my ears and here are my feet.
When I’m in the garden, I look for trees
And nibble on all I like to eat.
Student
1: What are there in
your basket?
Rabbit: There are some eggs in my basket. They are blue, red
and green. Some are hard-boiled, some are chocolate. On Easter Sunday families
and friends exchange their eggs or give them to each other as a symbol of new
life.
Student
2: All around the
world, many children believe that Easter Bunny brings eggs and hides them for
children on Easter morning. There are many different legends about Easter Bunny
but here is the popular one.
A Legend about Easter Eggs. Acting out the legend.
Storyteller: Long ago in Germany there lived an old woman who
loved children. Each year she gave presents to children to celebrate
spring. (An old woman comes to the stage)
Old
woman: Oh! Spring! My
favourite season! How bright the sun is shinning! How wonderful flowers! I want
to celebrate spring. But I don’t want to do it alone! Children, come here. I’ve
got some presents for you. (The children come to the woman. She gives them
something.)
Old
woman: It is for you! It’s
a present for you! (She gives presents)
Storyteller: But one year she had nothing to give because it was a
bad year and she became very poor. All she had were some eggs.
Old
woman: Every year I give
children presents to celebrate spring. But this year is very bad: we have
nothing to eat and we are very poor. I have nothing to give my poor children! What shall I do? Oh! I have
some eggs. I shall colour them and hide them in the yard.
Old woman: My dear children, go to the yard and find your
presents there.
(Children begin to find eggs)
Child: Look! A rabbit! Oh, I know that this rabbit brought us eggs!
Rabbit: I’m hunting, I’m hunting
I’m hunting for the eggs.
Have to find the Easter eggs now,
I’ve already picked up nine.
Fill the basket, fill the basket,
Fill the basket every time.
Candy eggs and jelly beans are tucked
Behind each growing pine.
Storyteller: So the children thought that the rabbit had left the
eggs for them! And ever since, children have searched for eggs left by the
Easter rabbit on Easter morning. It is called the Easter Egg Hunt.
